Frequently asked questions
Will the pleats stay crisp after washing?
Yes. The polyester denim holds its shape well through the wash. Hang them to dry and the pleats fall back into place on their own.
How do I pick a size if my waist and hips land in different rows?
Go by your waist measurement. The leg is cut wide and roomy, so the hip has plenty of give either way.
Can I hem these without ruining the look?
You can. The wide leg is straight from the knee down, so a tailor can shorten them cleanly without changing the shape.
Do they wrinkle when I sit for a long time?
Very little. The fabric smooths out within a few minutes of standing up, which makes them easy for long days at a desk.

How to measure
- Bust / chest. Around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed at your sides.
- Waist. Around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel.
- Hips. Around the fullest part, roughly 8 in below the waist.
- Inseam. From the crotch seam to the floor, in the shoes you'll wear the trousers with.
Measure over the underwear you'd normally wear, not over clothing. Keep the tape snug but not tight.

How our pieces are cut
- Dresses are cut true to size. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one — most of our dresses have ease through the waist.
- Coats and jackets are cut with room for a knit underneath. Take your usual size; size up only if you layer heavily.
- Knitwear is relaxed by design. Between sizes, take the smaller one unless you want an oversized look.
- Trousers and jeans run true to size. Between sizes, take the larger one.
- Shoes run true to size. If you have a wide foot, take half a size up.

Knitwear: cold hand wash or a wool cycle at 30 °C, no softener, dried flat and stored folded.
Coats: dry clean once or twice a season, stored on a broad wooden hanger.
Leather: wipe with a damp cloth, condition twice a year, never dry near heat.
