Frequently asked questions
Can I close it all the way, or is it meant to hang open?
Both work. Closed, the diagonal lapel gives it a coat-like shape. Open, it drapes long and easy over whatever you're wearing.
Will the wash look exactly like the photos?
Close, but not identical. The finish is irregular on purpose, so small differences in fading are normal from piece to piece.
Is it warm enough for fall?
It's a mid-weight layer, not a winter coat. Perfect for cool mornings in the 50s and 60s, or over a sweater when it drops lower.
Does the shoulder still work if I'm petite?
The dropped shoulder is cut into the pattern, so it sits low on everyone by design. On a shorter frame it reads as relaxed rather than oversized.

How to measure
- Bust / chest. Around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed at your sides.
- Waist. Around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel.
- Hips. Around the fullest part, roughly 8 in below the waist.
- Inseam. From the crotch seam to the floor, in the shoes you'll wear the trousers with.
Measure over the underwear you'd normally wear, not over clothing. Keep the tape snug but not tight.

How our pieces are cut
- Dresses are cut true to size. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one — most of our dresses have ease through the waist.
- Coats and jackets are cut with room for a knit underneath. Take your usual size; size up only if you layer heavily.
- Knitwear is relaxed by design. Between sizes, take the smaller one unless you want an oversized look.
- Trousers and jeans run true to size. Between sizes, take the larger one.
- Shoes run true to size. If you have a wide foot, take half a size up.

We work in natural fibres — wool, cashmere, cotton, linen and full-grain leather.
Knitwear: cold hand wash or a wool cycle at 30 °C, no softener, dried flat and stored folded.
Coats: dry clean once or twice a season, stored on a broad wooden hanger.
Leather: wipe with a damp cloth, condition twice a year, never dry near heat.
