Frequently asked questions
Will it slide on my tile floor?
The dotted backing grips smooth surfaces like tile, vinyl, and sealed wood. Make sure your floor is clean and dry when you first lay it down — dust and grease underneath are what cause rugs to slide.
Can I put it in front of the stove?
Yes. Just keep it a safe distance from any open flame or heating element, the same as you would with any fabric mat.
Does oil wash out?
Blot fresh oil with a paper towel first, then machine wash. Treating a greasy spot before washing gives you the best result.
Does it work on carpet?
It works best on hard flooring. On carpet, the backing has nothing firm to grip, so it may shift when you step on it.

How to measure
- Bust / chest. Around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed at your sides.
- Waist. Around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel.
- Hips. Around the fullest part, roughly 8 in below the waist.
- Inseam. From the crotch seam to the floor, in the shoes you'll wear the trousers with.
Measure over the underwear you'd normally wear, not over clothing. Keep the tape snug but not tight.

How our pieces are cut
- Dresses are cut true to size. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one — most of our dresses have ease through the waist.
- Coats and jackets are cut with room for a knit underneath. Take your usual size; size up only if you layer heavily.
- Knitwear is relaxed by design. Between sizes, take the smaller one unless you want an oversized look.
- Trousers and jeans run true to size. Between sizes, take the larger one.
- Shoes run true to size. If you have a wide foot, take half a size up.

We work in natural fibres — wool, cashmere, cotton, linen and full-grain leather.
Knitwear: cold hand wash or a wool cycle at 30 °C, no softener, dried flat and stored folded.
Coats: dry clean once or twice a season, stored on a broad wooden hanger.
Leather: wipe with a damp cloth, condition twice a year, never dry near heat.
