Your Dining Room Just Got An Upgrade
She mocked my old dining chairs.
So I covered them in gold baroque — and now the whole room looks like I spent a fortune on new furniture.

That's the part nobody expects.
The high-density stretch knit pulls tight over the chair you already own, so there are no wrinkles and no baggy corners.
Spills go straight in the wash.
The gold print is digitally printed, so it stays crisp instead of blurring.
Digitally printed gold that stays crisp through the wash
✓ Turn tired chairs into the room's best feature
The gold baroque motif sits against a deep base, giving plain chairs the look of upholstered dining seats. Guests notice the chairs first now — in a good way.

✓ No more panic when wine tips over
Pull the cover off, wash it, put it back. Your actual chair underneath stays clean and dry, every single dinner.

✓ Stretches tight — no sagging, no wrinkles
The high-density knit grips the chair frame instead of hanging off it. That's the difference between a cover that looks intentional and one that looks thrown on.
✓ A whole new dining set by Saturday
No reupholstering. No delivery trucks. No measuring appointments. Slip them on and your room is done in minutes.

✓ The gold print won't wash out
Digital printing locks the pattern into the fabric instead of sitting on top of it. Wash after wash, the baroque detail stays sharp.

Frequently asked questions
Will it stay put when someone sits down?
The stretch knit hugs the chair frame rather than draping over it, which keeps it in place during normal use. A quick tug at the base resets it if it shifts after a long dinner.
Can I use these on chairs with armrests?
These are made for armless dining chairs. Chairs with arms will not slip on properly, so check your chair shape before ordering.
Do I need to iron them after washing?
No. The stretch does the work — once the cover is pulled onto the chair, the fabric smooths itself out. Hang drying keeps it looking its best.
Is the fabric hot to sit on?
It's a lightweight knit, not a heavy upholstery fabric. It sits like a fitted jersey rather than a thick cushion cover, so it doesn't trap much heat at a long table.
How to use
- Step 1: Pull the cover over the top of the chair back and slide it down.
- Step 2: Work the seat section over the chair seat, pulling evenly from front to back.
- Step 3: Tug the bottom edges down until the fabric sits flat with no wrinkles. Takes about 30 seconds per chair.

Use the fit finder next to the size selector for a recommendation in a few seconds, or see the full measurement charts below.
Every product page has a fit finder next to the size selector — three questions, one recommendation, a few seconds. These charts are for anyone who would rather read the numbers.
How to measure
- Bust / chest. Around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed at your sides.
- Waist. Around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel.
- Hips. Around the fullest part, roughly 8 in below the waist.
- Inseam. From the crotch seam to the floor, in the shoes you'll wear the trousers with.
Measure over the underwear you'd normally wear, not over clothing. Keep the tape snug but not tight.

How our pieces are cut
- Dresses are cut true to size. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one — most of our dresses have ease through the waist.
- Coats and jackets are cut with room for a knit underneath. Take your usual size; size up only if you layer heavily.
- Knitwear is relaxed by design. Between sizes, take the smaller one unless you want an oversized look.
- Trousers and jeans run true to size. Between sizes, take the larger one.
- Shoes run true to size. If you have a wide foot, take half a size up.
Still not sure?
Write to info@halstead.com with your usual size, your height and the piece you're looking at. We'll tell you what we would pick — usually within a few hours. We would far rather get it right the first time than process a return.
We work in natural fibres — wool, cashmere, cotton, linen and full-grain leather.
Knitwear: cold hand wash or a wool cycle at 30 °C, no softener, dried flat and stored folded.
Coats: dry clean once or twice a season, stored on a broad wooden hanger.
Leather: wipe with a damp cloth, condition twice a year, never dry near heat.
