Vintage Ankle Boots That Pull Your Outfit Together
You put on the outfit, look down, and your shoes say nothing.
Vintara changes that.
These lace-up ankle boots carry real vintage character, and the grippy rubber sole and laced ankle handle wet sidewalks and grocery runs without losing the look.

Slip them on and walk out.
They feel steady under you from the first block to the last errand of the day.
A snug fit through the toe and a close fit at the ankle
✓ Finish every outfit in one step
Jeans, skirts, dresses — the vintage detailing adds character your plain shoes never gave you. One pair, dressed up or down.

✓ Walk the whole day without watching the clock
The soft PU upper moves with your foot instead of fighting it. The laces let you set the fit at your ankle, so nothing rubs or slips.

✓ Rain and wet sidewalks don't stop you
A durable rubber outsole grips damp pavement. Wipe them off after and they look like they did this morning.

✓ Two colors that match what's already in your closet
No rethinking your wardrobe. These sit next to the clothes you already reach for and quietly make them look better.

Frequently asked questions
Can I wear these with thicker socks in cold weather?
Yes. Loosen the laces a little and there's room for a heavier sock. The lace-up front is what gives you that flexibility.
Do the laces need to be untied every time I put them on?
No. Most people tie them once at their preferred snugness and slide their foot in from there. The ankle opening allows this.
How do I clean them after a wet day?
Wipe the PU upper with a damp cloth and let them air dry away from direct heat. Brush any grit off the rubber sole.
Will the sole grip on smooth indoor floors?
Yes. The rubber outsole is textured, so it holds on tile and polished floors as well as wet pavement.

Every product page has a fit finder next to the size selector — three questions, one recommendation, a few seconds. These charts are for anyone who would rather read the numbers.
How to measure
- Bust / chest. Around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed at your sides.
- Waist. Around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel.
- Hips. Around the fullest part, roughly 8 in below the waist.
- Inseam. From the crotch seam to the floor, in the shoes you'll wear the trousers with.
Measure over the underwear you'd normally wear, not over clothing. Keep the tape snug but not tight.

How our pieces are cut
- Dresses are cut true to size. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one — most of our dresses have ease through the waist.
- Coats and jackets are cut with room for a knit underneath. Take your usual size; size up only if you layer heavily.
- Knitwear is relaxed by design. Between sizes, take the smaller one unless you want an oversized look.
- Trousers and jeans run true to size. Between sizes, take the larger one.
- Shoes run true to size. If you have a wide foot, take half a size up.
Still not sure?
Write to info@halstead.com with your usual size, your height and the piece you're looking at. We'll tell you what we would pick — usually within a few hours. We would far rather get it right the first time than process a return.
We work in natural fibres — wool, cashmere, cotton, linen and full-grain leather.
Knitwear: cold hand wash or a wool cycle at 30 °C, no softener, dried flat and stored folded.
Coats: dry clean once or twice a season, stored on a broad wooden hanger.
Leather: wipe with a damp cloth, condition twice a year, never dry near heat.
