Frequently asked questions
Can I do this if my hands aren't as steady as they used to be?
Yes. The pen picks up each gem for you, so you're guiding it rather than pinching it. Many crafters find it easier than beading or cross-stitch.
What if I run out of gems before I finish?
Kits like this include extra gems of each color for exactly that reason. Keep the spares in the tray until the last panel is done.
Do I need glue to put the box together?
No. The panels are designed to fold and fit together once decorated. Follow the order in the instructions and it holds its shape.
How do I keep it looking good after Christmas?
Store it in a dry spot away from direct sun. Dust it gently with a soft dry cloth — never a wet one.
How to use
- Step 1: Lay out the panels and pour one gem color into the tray. Shake gently so they sit face up.
- Step 2: Dip the pen tip into the wax, then press it onto a gem. Place the gem on its matching symbol.
- Step 3: Work one color at a time until each panel is fully covered. Press each panel flat for a minute when it's done.
- Step 4: Fold and fit the panels together to form the box. Set it on your shelf or fill it with a small gift.

How to measure
- Bust / chest. Around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed at your sides.
- Waist. Around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel.
- Hips. Around the fullest part, roughly 8 in below the waist.
- Inseam. From the crotch seam to the floor, in the shoes you'll wear the trousers with.
Measure over the underwear you'd normally wear, not over clothing. Keep the tape snug but not tight.

How our pieces are cut
- Dresses are cut true to size. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one — most of our dresses have ease through the waist.
- Coats and jackets are cut with room for a knit underneath. Take your usual size; size up only if you layer heavily.
- Knitwear is relaxed by design. Between sizes, take the smaller one unless you want an oversized look.
- Trousers and jeans run true to size. Between sizes, take the larger one.
- Shoes run true to size. If you have a wide foot, take half a size up.

We work in natural fibres — wool, cashmere, cotton, linen and full-grain leather.
Knitwear: cold hand wash or a wool cycle at 30 °C, no softener, dried flat and stored folded.
Coats: dry clean once or twice a season, stored on a broad wooden hanger.
Leather: wipe with a damp cloth, condition twice a year, never dry near heat.
