Frequently asked questions
Can you breathe and see with the hood fully zipped?
Yes. The zip stops below the eyes, leaving your sight line open, and the fabric sits away from your mouth rather than pressed against it. Most people leave it fully zipped only for the coldest stretch of a walk.
Does the collar look strange when the hood is down?
No. The hood folds flat into the collar and reads as a normal stand-up neckline. Nobody can tell there's a balaclava in there until you pull it up.
Is this warm enough on its own in deep winter?
It blocks wind well and covers far more of you than a regular jacket. For very low temperatures, wear a sweater or fleece underneath — the boxy cut leaves room for a layer without straining.
Will it fit me if I'm between sizes?
The cut is oversized, so go with the smaller of the two sizes. Check the length column on the size chart to see where the hem lands on you.
How to use
- Step 1: Zip the jacket up to the top of the chest as you would any hoodie.
- Step 2: Pull the hood up over your head and settle the collar around your neck.
- Step 3: Keep pulling the zipper upward — the balaclava panel closes across your face and stops below the eyes. Takes about 5 seconds.
- Step 4: To open it back up, unzip to chest level and let the hood drop. The panel folds flat into the collar on its own.

How to measure
- Bust / chest. Around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed at your sides.
- Waist. Around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel.
- Hips. Around the fullest part, roughly 8 in below the waist.
- Inseam. From the crotch seam to the floor, in the shoes you'll wear the trousers with.
Measure over the underwear you'd normally wear, not over clothing. Keep the tape snug but not tight.

How our pieces are cut
- Dresses are cut true to size. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one — most of our dresses have ease through the waist.
- Coats and jackets are cut with room for a knit underneath. Take your usual size; size up only if you layer heavily.
- Knitwear is relaxed by design. Between sizes, take the smaller one unless you want an oversized look.
- Trousers and jeans run true to size. Between sizes, take the larger one.
- Shoes run true to size. If you have a wide foot, take half a size up.

We work in natural fibres — wool, cashmere, cotton, linen and full-grain leather.
Knitwear: cold hand wash or a wool cycle at 30 °C, no softener, dried flat and stored folded.
Coats: dry clean once or twice a season, stored on a broad wooden hanger.
Leather: wipe with a damp cloth, condition twice a year, never dry near heat.
